The conversation took place on the Turkish side’s initiative and discussed preparations for Mr Putin’s official visit to Turkey to take place at the beginning of September.
Both sides noted that this top-level visit will be the first in the two countries’ bilateral relations for more than 30 years and will be a powerful boost for developing the varied ties that exist between Russia and Turkey.
