September 3, 2004

Many heads of state and government expressed their support and solidarity on the telephone.

On Friday alone, President Vladimir Putin received telephone calls from President of the Republic of Korea Roh Moo Hyun, Norwegian Prime Minister Kjell Magne Bondevik, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko, Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez, President of Finland Tarya Halonen and Ukrainian President Leonid Kuchma.

Without exception, all the foreign leaders have strongly condemned this inhuman act of international terrorism in Russia, have expressed confidence that those responsible for these barbaric acts will receive the punishment they deserve, have spoken their support and solidarity with Russia’s leadership and people, and stated their readiness to intensify collective efforts to fight against international terrorism.
