On behalf of himself and all of the people of Kazakhstan, President Nursultan Nazarbaev expressed his deep and sincere condolences to the Russian President and the people of the Russian Federation in connection with the tragic consequences of the monstrous act of international terrorism in Beslan. President Nazarbaev said that he had decided to declare a national minute of silence in Kazakhstan on 7 September.
President Putin expressed his gratitude to Mr Nazarbaev and the people of Kazakhstan for their show of solidarity.
