Mr Putin appointed Alexander Berditsky, the director of Rosgidromet, the Russian federal service for hydrometeorology and environmental monitoring, to be his official representative during the deliberations by both chambers of the Federal Assembly on ratifying the Kyoto Protocol.
The Russian Federation signed the Kyoto Protocol in New York on March 11, 1999.
