During the conversation, both Presidents gave a high assessment of the summit of the Central Asian Cooperation Organisation that was held in Dushanbe recently, and marked by the entry of the Russian Federation into the CACO.

Mr Putin and Mr Akaev also discussed relevant issues of bilateral cooperation, including in the sphere of ensuring security, which has great importance for both countries and for the region as a whole.

Plans were also discussed for further contacts at different levels, including at a high level.
