In a live broadcast of three national Ukrainian television channels, President Vladimir Putin answered questions by television viewers

President Putin answered 33 questions by Ukrainian citizens.

The programme “Vladimir Putin. Live broadcast” was shown on Channel One of Ukrainian television (UT-1), and the channels “1+1” and “Inter” at 8 p.m. Kiev time for about an hour.

Over 60,000 telephone calls and questions to the Russian President went to a special call centre before the broadcast began. Mr Putin was asked over 2,000 addition questions through the programme website.

At the beginning of the broadcast, there were around 25 calls a minute. By the middle of the interview, this figure increased to 520 calls a minute.

Some of the questions were given to the Russian President by television hosts, while others were heard live from the call centre. In all, Mr Putin was asked 80,000 questions.
