The advantages and disadvantages of the institution of juries are well known, said President Vladimir Putin at a meeting with human rights commissioner for the Russian Federation Vladimir Lukin.

The jury system needs to be improved, but a greater question is the processes in society itself, among which are juries.

Mr Lukin presented the President with the report “Problems of improving the activity of juries in Russia.”
