The Presidents of Russia and Ukraine took part in a opening ceremony of the constant ferry hub between Russian port ”Kavkaz“ and Ukrainian one ”Krym.“

The creation of this transport hub allows delivering cargos from Central Asia and Caspian Region in Europe.

Vladimir Putin and Leonid Kuchma met in the Russian port ”Kavkaz“ (Krasnodar Region, Russia) where held brief talks and discussed prospects of further developmen of bilateral cooperation in the economic and transport spheres.

Then on the boat ”Eisk“ they left for Kerch (Port ”Krym,“ Crimea, Ukraine) where a an official opening ceremony of the transport hub took place. At the presence of two leaders ministers of Russia and Ukraine signed a special agreement on organising the constant freight in the Kerch Strait between two ports.

After the ceremony President Vladimir Putin spoke to Prime Minister Viktor Yanukovich of Ukraine. The Russian head of state noted the important contribution that Viktor Yanukovich’s government had made to solving issues of the transport hub Kavkaz-Krym. Mr Putin also wished Mr Yanukovich further success and thank for close cooperation with his Russian colleagues.
