At the end of talks, the declaration “United community is our future” was passed.

The leaders of APEC confirmed their adherence to principles of liberalizing trade and investment, and put forward the initiative for further expansion of trade in the APEC region.

This document also devotes a lot of attention to the tasks of the war of terrorism, and increasing safety of the individual, as a fundament of economic growth, and also to the war on corruption, which poses a threat to the economies of the region.

Before work began on the second day of the summit, the leaders of APEC countries were photographed in national Chilean costume, the chamanto, presented to them by the organizers of the meeting.
