In his speech Dmitry Medvedev described the main orientations of Russian domestic and foreign policy and, in particular, the innovative ways of promoting economic development, improving the political system and development of civil society institutions, and the role of international organisations in strengthening security.
Dmitry Medvedev put forward the initiative of concluding a treaty on European security which would comprehensively address security and arms control issues in Europe.
