Issues of developing the internal gas market as well as a construction of gas pipelines to Europe were discussed.

President Vladimir Putin noted the priority importance of developing the domestic gas market.

The difference in prices on the external and domestic markets today makes it more profitable to export gas, but it is nonetheless important to develop the domestic gas network, especially to households and, as the domestic market becomes more attractive, to increase the share of gas sales on the Russian market.

The President raised the question of extending the gas network in Russia’s regions after Mr Miller spoke of Gazprom’s plans to increase export sales.
