The Russian President thanked the participants and organisers of the programmes of Russian-German cultural meetings, noting that around 3,000 events had been held in these two years. Among them, Vladimir Putin singled out Germany’s active participation in the 300th anniversary of St. Petersburg, the visit by the Russian Federation to the Frankfurt book fair in 2003, and the exhibition “Berlin-Moscow, Moscow-Berlin”, and also the restoration of the Walker organ by German craftsmen for the St. Petersburg philharmonic.

After this, a concert of organ music was held in the Philharmonic Great Hall, dedicated to the closing ceremony of Russian-German cultural ties.
