The text of the message sent to the President of the Republic of India A.P.K. Abdul Kalam reads:

“We are sincerely glad about India’s success as a dynamically developing, powerful nation that is playing an increasingly important role in world affairs. We highly value the relations of strategic partnership that have been established between Russia and India.”

The message to Prime Minster Manmohan Singh noted “the consistent course of India’s foreign policy directed towards creating a multipolar democratic world order and providing universal peace and stability.” President Putin said he was certain that further deepening of Russian-Indian cooperation is in the fundamental interests of both countries.
