The President approves of Mahmoud Abbas’ election as head of the Palestinian Authority. Power is in the hands of a person who has fought for many years for the interests of the Palestinian people, the President noted.
Mr Putin promised that Russia would help in regulation in the Middle East, and said that he hopes that Mr Abbas will be able to improve relations with Israel and achieve positive results in the economic development of Palestine.
