The meeting discussed the Eurasian Economic Community’s development.

Mr Khristenko reported on the successes of multilateral cooperation within the Eurasian Economic Community, saying that trade turnover between its members had reached a figure of $28 billion in 2004. The Eurasian Economic Community’s member states plan to complete the formation of a customs union by 2006.

Mr Khristenko also informed the President about his recent visit to Kazakhstan, where a meeting of the Eurasian Economic Community’s Integration Committee took place, and reported on the results of talks with Kazakhstan’s prime minister. Joint energy projects were also discussed at the meeting.
