“Please accept our sincere congratulations on your elections as President of the Greek Republic.

I hope for close and fruitful cooperation with you in the interests of gradual development of relations of friendship, mutual respect and trust, which have long linked the peoples of our countries.

It gives me particular pleasure to invite you, Mr Papoulias, an active participant in the Resistance during the Second World War, to take part in the 60th anniversary celebrations of the Great Patriotic War, which will be held in Moscow in 9 May 2005.
