It is comforting to know that this wonderful tradition continues to pass from generation to generation and is carefully maintained in modern Russia.

The traditions of Buddhism are based on the timeless values of kindness and charity. They serve to bring people together, promoting mutual understanding and cooperation. They help to create an atmosphere of tolerance and mutual respect between people of different ethnicities, beliefs, and religions in our society.

I am certain that Russian Buddhists, in following the principles of humanism and high spiritual ideals, will continue to make important contributions to reinforcing peace and harmony in our country in the future.”

Russian Buddhists will celebrate the New Year on February 25. Buddhism in Russia is widespread in Buryatia, Kalmykia, Tuva, and in Gorno-Altaisk region.
