March 25, 2005, Yerevan

The centre, which includes a library, video library and reading room, is located in one of central Yerevan’s most beautiful buildings, built in 1901 and home for more than fifty years now to the Armenian Society for Cultural Ties and Cooperation with Foreign Countries.

The centre is to host presentations of new Russian publications, organise meetings with writers, scholars and Russian language and literature specialists and celebrate the anniversaries of prominent Russian and Armenian cultural figures.

Lyudmila Putina also visited the Museum of Children’s Art at the National Aesthetics Centre of Armenia. The centre’s director, Genrikh Igitian, said that this museum, which celebrated its 35th anniversary on March 13, is the only one of its kind in the world.
