At the airport in Hannover, the Russian President was met by Federal Chancellor of Germany Gerhard Schroeder.
Directly from the airport, Vladimir Putin and Mr Schroeder went to the Congress Centre, where the opening of the Hanover Fair 2005 was held. The heads of state travelled in the same car.
