After the completion of the session of the Supreme State Council of the Union State of Russia and Belarus, Vladimir Putin noted that integration efforts between Russia and Belarus should serve as an additional stimulus for the successful development of national economies, to strengthen the political potential of both countries, and most important to increase the prosperity of citizens of Russia and Belarus.

Special attention at the meeting was given to issues of ensuring equal rights for citizens of Russia and Belarus. The President noted the necessity of more active progress in such priority areas as payment of pensions and medical services for the citizens of the two countries on the territories of both Russia and Belarus.
