Mr Putin visited several of the halls in the Yad Vashem Historical Museum, the central part of the memorial complex.
The President visited, in particular, the hall where materials have been gathered on mass extermination of the Jews in the Nazi concentration camps. He also visited the Hall of Remembrance.
Mr Putin then laid a wreath at the Memorial to the Victims of the Holocaust and the Heroes of the Resistance and paid tribute to their memory with a minute of silence.
