President Vladimir Putin signed the Decree “On approving regulations on Russian Federation Interior Ministry Interior Troops' operational-territorial groups”

Under the new regulations, the Interior Ministry Interior Troops operational-territorial group is the main military and administrative unit of the Interior Ministry Interior Troops. Taking into account the scale and importance of the troops’ mission and the number of servicemen, the plan is to approve three types of operational-territorial group: the Interior Troops District, Interior Troops Regional Command and Interior Troops Regional Directorate.
