At a session of the State Council presidium in Elista on issues of the development of the agro-industrial complex, Vladimir Putin touched on the issue of increasing the competitiveness of Russian agricultural producers.

Among the measures to support them are customs tariffs and other tools to protect the domestic market. However, despite all the possible advisability of these protective measures, it is necessary to remember that restricting access to the market for foreign companies is only justified when the people are provided with cheaper and better-quality goods from Russian producers.
