“It is pleasing that your university, founded five years ago by a decree by the outstanding son of the Azerbaijan people, Geidar Alievich Aliev, continues to develop its academic and educational potential. Within its walls selfless work is conducted on the study of the Russian language, and preserving the traditions of Russian culture in Azerbaijan. And joint humanitarian projects with Russian partners help to strengthen friendly relations between the two country.

I warmly remember visiting your university and the ceremony when I was awarded the title of honorary doctor of the Baku Slavonic University. I would like to confirm our principled and unchanging course to advancing fruitful dialogue, and thorough development of diverse good-neighbourly ties between Russia and Azerbaijan.

I wish the staff of professors and lecturers, all graduates and students, prosperity and success in their work and study.”
