Vladimir Putin sent a message of congratulations to Mongolian President Nambaryn Enkhbayar on assuming office

June 24, 2005

The message reads:

“Your decisive victory at the elections is a sign of the trust of the Mongolian people, its hopes for the country’s sure advancement on the path of democracy and stability.

For Russia, Mongolia has always been and remains a reliable and promising partner in Asia. And we highly value the mood of the Mongolian leadership and your personal aspiration to strengthen traditionally friendly, good-neighbourly bilateral relations.

Among priority areas of our joint work today are strengthening trade and economic ties, and stimulating cooperation in regions and border areas. And of course, our common task is to open wide possibilities for direct contact between our citizens, for conducting projects in the sphere of culture, science and education. All this is the necessary basis for achieving a new quality of constructive partnership between our two countries.”

The message was passed on by Chairman of the Federation Council Sergei Mironov during a personal meeting with Nambaryn Enkhbayar.
