The three leaders discussed relations between Russia and the European Union, reform of the United Nations, the situation in Iran, including issues concerning the Iranian nuclear programme, North Korea and the Middle East.
Mr Putin also informed Mr Chirac and Mr Schroeder of the results of his meeting with Chinese President Hu Jintao.
Following their meeting, the three leaders held a press conference.
