There is a good chance that Russia's relations with France and Germany may serve as an example of successful and constructive cooperation

July 3, 2005

Cooperation between the three countries is beneficial for Russia, France and Germany and also for all of Europe, President Vladimir Putin said at the press conference following his meeting with Mr Chirac and Mr Schroeder.

Cooperation between the three countries played a positive role in Russia’s ratification of the Kyoto Protocol. Furthermore, bilateral agreements that Russia has signed with France and Germany have greatly facilitated transit across Russian territory for military personnel and property sent by these countries to bases in Afghanistan.
