Prospects were discussed for the settlement of some bilateral disagreements over Russia joining the WTO.
Russia invalidated some claims by Canada that do not affect its interests directly, namely, related to the production of wide-body aircraft.
During the meeting Mr Putin raised the issue of those claims made by Canada.
Paul Martin promised Mr Putin that he would try to settle the issues concerning Russias access to the WTO with the Canadian Department of Trade.
