President Vladimir Putin held a meeting with the Government

Senior officials from the State Duma also took part in the meeting.

The meeting discussed the results of the State Duma’s spring session and the priorities for the next session, in particular, preparation of the 2006 budget.

Also discussed were the law on mineral extraction, the Water and Forest Codes and a number of other draft laws.

Economic Development and Trade Minister German Gref informed the President about development projects in Eastern Siberia, in particular, projects to develop the oil fields in the Vankursky group and the Yurubcheno-Tokhomsky zone and plans to develop the Lower Aral region.

Transport Minister Igor Levitin informed the President about programmes for export-transport services the government has been examining.
