Mr Putin paid tribute to the spirit of sacrifice shown by Korean patriots in the struggle for their homeland’s freedom and independence and also noted the considerable contribution the heroic soldiers of the Soviet army made to Korea’s liberation in August 1945.

The President said how convinced he was of the need to work consistently for the further development of partner relations between Russia and the Republic of Korea.
