The telegram reads, in particular:

“It was with great sorrow that I learned of this tragic disaster that has befallen a Cypriot airplane and has cost dozens of human lives, including the lives of children. We sincerely share the pain and the bitterness of loss that has hit many Cypriot families.

I ask you to pass on, on behalf of myself personally and the entire Russian people, our most profound condolences and words of sympathy to the families and friends of the victims and the entire people of Cyprus”.
