“The Russia Abroad Library Foundation’s creation and activities are in many ways a unique project in international humanitarian cooperation. The huge work undertaken by the foundation’s staff over the last decade to return to their homeland valuable books, manuscripts and archive materials connected to the lives and work of our outstanding compatriots deserves the greatest respect. Today, the foundation is not only preserving this truly invaluable literary, historical and cultural heritage for future generations, but is also doing a great deal to popularise the Russian language and expand the general Russian-language information space.

I am sure that the opening of this new library marks a significant event for public life and will give new impetus to strengthening our cultural, scientific and education ties with our fellow Russians.”
