At the ceremony for the opening of the wastewater treatment plant Vladimir Putin thanked the President of Finland, Tarja Halonen, and the Prime Minister of Sweden, Goran Persson, for the assistance rendered by their countries during the plant’s construction.

The President emphasised that Russia is aware of its responsibility for maintaining ecological equilibrium and intends to enter future projects of a similar scale.
