Mr Putin congratulated Mr Yekhanurov on his appointment to the post of Prime Minister of Ukraine and wished him success. The President expressed the hope that Mr Yekhanurov would successfully overcome the negative tendencies affecting the Ukrainian economy.
Aide to the Russian President Sergei Prikhodko, Russian Ambassador to Ukraine Viktor Chernomyrdin and Ukranian Economic Minister Arseny Yatsenyuk also were present at the meeting.
