“I am pleased to see that Russian-Spanish relations have achieved a new dynamic over recent years. Our political ties and our cooperation on the international stage are growing stronger and we are taking practical steps forward on combating terrorism. Good prospects are opening up in humanitarian cooperation and tourism.

I have very warm recollections of our conversation in Moscow and I await our next meeting in Madrid during my visit to Spain in 2006. I am sure that the traditionally friendly relations between Russia and Spain will become more and more substantial and diverse. Such development of our relations is fully in the interests of our peoples and contributes to the construction of a stable and prosperous Europe.”
