“One hundred years ago Russia respectfully acknowledged Norway's choice and recognized its sovereignty. This was a natural result of more than a thousand years of good, neighbourly relations between the two peoples.
I hope that Russian-Norwegian relations, which are based on a positive historical experience of solving all problems in a constructive way and the significant potential for cooperation between the two countries, will continue to further develop in the spirit of mutual respect. I hope they will act as an example of mutually beneficial cooperation and will help provide peace and stability in Europe.”
