Vladimir Putin met with the President of the Republic of Korea, Roh Moo Hyun

They discussed pressing questions concerning bilateral relations.

A joint action plan in the field of trade and economic cooperation was approved as a result of Russian-South Korean talks. The document was signed by Russian Deputy Economic Development and Trade Minister, Andrei Sharonov, and South Korean Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade, Kim Hyun Chon, in the presence of the President of Russia, Vladimir Putin, and the President of the Republic of Korea, Roh Moo Hyun.

Both countries aspire to continue economic cooperation in the fields of transportation, energy, information technology, outer space and developing marine resources.

The joint action plan emphasizes that the Republic of Korea supports Russia's efforts to accede to the WTO.

The parties intend to coordinate their efforts in the project to connect the Trans-Korean and Trans-Siberian railways.

Russia and South Korea agreed to carry out bilateral investment forums and to assist business structures in choosing cooperative investment projects.

Following the talks Vladimir Putin and the President of the Republic of Korea, Roh Moo Hyun, held a joint press conference.
