Talking with journalists, Mr Putin said he hoped that by building relations based on friendship, understanding and mutual respect, Russia and Japan would be able to settle all unresolved issues.

Summing up the results of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation forum summit that just ended in Busan, South Korea, the President confirmed Russia’s interest in expanding cooperation with the Asia-Pacific region countries, including Japan, in the energy and high-technology sectors.
