Meeting with Chairman of the Ukrainian Parliament Vladimir Litvin, President Vladimir Putin said he regretted the fact that Ukrainian politicians have not often been seen in Moscow of late. The intensive political contacts of previous years had had a positive economic impact for both countries, Mr Putin noted.

In Mr Putin’s view, the last year can therefore only be seen as a year of lost opportunities for Russian-Ukrainian relations.
