Prospects for Russian-Ukrainian cooperation in the fuel and energy sector were the main subject of discussion. Mr Putin expressed his satisfaction with Mr Yushchenko’s statement that Ukraine is ready to liberalise prices for Russian gas supplies and, correspondingly, ready also to liberalise gas transport tariffs.
Discussions on other cooperation issues in this sector will continue at expert level.
