The heads of state wished each other and the peoples of Russia and Finland a Happy New Year.
During the discussion both parties noted that in 2005 Russian-Finnish cooperation developed in a steady, positive way in virtually all areas. Such amiable cooperation in various sectors has great value not only for further strengthening Russian-Finnish bilateral ties but also in European affairs, especially in view of Finland's presidency of the European Union in the second half of 2006.
