President Vladimir Putin signed the Federal Law “On Ratification of the Agreement between the Russian Federation and United Mexican States on the Handover of Persons Sentenced to Prison to Serve their Sentences”

The Law was passed by the State Duma on December 16, 2005, and was approved by the Federation Council on December 27, 2005.

The Agreement sets out the procedures and conditions for the handover to the Russian Federation of Russian citizens sentenced to imprisonment in the United Mexican States in order to serve their sentences in the Russian Federation, and for the handover of Mexican citizens sentenced to imprisonment in the Russian Federation in order to serve their sentences in the United Mexican States.
