The two leaders discussed bilateral cooperation issues in the light of the outcome of their meeting last November in Samsun in Turkey.
Both sides expressed satisfaction at the rapid pace at which Russian-Turkish cooperation is developing.
Mr Putin and Mr Erdogan also discussed international issues of mutual interest and plans for contacts at different levels in 2006.
The conversation was the Turkish side’s initiative.
