President Vladimir Putin met with President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev

The two Presidents discussed promising areas for cooperation between the two countries, in particular cooperation in the peaceful use of nuclear energy.

The talks resulted in the signature of a protocol amending the protocol to the agreement on delimiting the northern part of the Caspian Sea bed in the objective of exercising sovereign rights to mineral resources use of July 6, 1998. The two Presidents also adopted a joint statement on cooperation in the field of nuclear energy.

Mr Putin also held a meeting with President of Tajikistan Emomali Rakhmonov before the start of the session of the Eurasian Economic Community Inter-State Council.
