The telegram reads, in particular:

“Russia is shocked by the news of the tragedy in Katowice that has caused such great loss of life.

On behalf of the entire Russian people and on my personal behalf, I would like to express my sincere sympathy for the Polish people and I ask you to pass on my profound condolences to the families of the victims and my hopes for a speedy recovery for all who were injured.”
