The telegram to President of the Arab Republic of Egypt Hosni Mubarak reads, in particular:

”I was deeply grieved to learn about the accident of the Egyptian passenger ferry in the Red Sea and the great tragedy which claimed the lives of hundreds of people.

Mr President, I ask that you transmit our sincere condolences to the families and loved ones of the victims and our best wishes for a prompt recovery to those who were saved.

I confirm Russia's unvarying support for Egypt and the Egyptian people during this difficult time.“
