Vladimir Putin and Silvio Berlusconi discussed various issues concerning bilateral cooperation in the trade and economic spheres, including contacts between business communities, cooperation in the energy sector, and developing ties in culture and education.
The Russian head of state and Italian Prime Minister exchanged opinions on several topical international problems. They paid special attention to the prospects for a settlement in the Middle East in light of the realization of well-known Russian initiatives.
During the discussion Vladimir Putin thanked Silvio Berlusconi for the excellent organization of the Olympic Winter Games in Turin.
