President Vladimir Putin met with James Wolfenson, special representative of the 'quartet' of Middle East peace settlement mediators — the U.S., the EU, Russia and the UN

Mr Wolfenson was President of the World Bank until May 31, 2005. Last April, the ‘quartet’ members appointed him to be their special representative for the Middle East peace settlement process. Mr Wolfenson already met in this capacity with Mr Putin on June 25, 2005, in St Petersburg.
