This decision is announced in a Presidential Decree “On Celebrating the 100th Anniversary of the Birth of Academician Dmitry Likhachev”.
The decree instructs the government to form an organising committee to prepare, approve and organise events in 2006 to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the birth of Academician Dmitry Likhachev.
President Vladimir Putin instructed the Foreign Ministry to inform UNESCO about the celebration of this anniversary in Russia.
