The Year of Russia in Azerbaijan will not showcase the newest modern Russian achievements. It shall also act as a new stimulus for mutually advantageous cooperation on equal footing between the historically close states and peoples. At the opening ceremony of the Year of Russia in Azerbaijan Vladimir Putin emphasized that Russia and Azerbaijan have carefully maintained continuous relations throughout centuries and passed on this tradition from generation to generation.
